Invoice Line Item Object

The Invoice Line Item object is a custom object of the application used to capture the sold items included in the invoice when billing in both: bulk and single invoice modes.

After installing and deploying Invoices for Salesforce the Invoice Line Item object has the following fields:

Field Description
Invoice2 Name of the invoice the invoice line item is linked to.

As you create invoice templates Invoices for Salesforce automatically updates the customization of the Invoice Line Item object, so there is no need for you to maintain its fields manually. (This only applies to Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions of Salesforce. Professional Edition users need to customize these objects manually as described here). However, once you created your invoice templates, you may want to customize the Invoice Line Item object page layout to display the fields with the dynamic data from your products that you added to the invoice templates in the invoice items table. To customize the Invoice Line Item page layout follow these steps:

  1. Go to You Name | Setup | App Setup | Create | Objects.
  2. Click on Invoice Line Item.
  3. In the Page Layouts related list click Edit next to the Invoice Line Item 2 Layout name.
  4. Click on Fields to display the list of available fields.
  5. Drag and drop the fields you want to a section of the page. Create new sections as necessary
  6. Click Save when you are done adding fields to the page layout.
Important
When automatically creating invoice line item records, Invoices for Salesforce only assign a value to the fields automatically maintained by the application when you create and edit invoice templates. Consequently, if you need to manually add custom field to the Invoice Line Item object, note that these fields are not assigned a value when the invoice line items are automatically created.
